Slingsby on top of Laser leaderboard at Kiel Week


'Tom Slingsby' Kieler Woche 2008

Despite a rainy third race day with drastically changing breeze (SE to S to SW) for the Olympic Classes of Kieler Woche 2008 the race committee successfully added an average of two more races per class on the eight courses.

The 49er fleetsailed four more races today with an almost unchanged top three in the overall lead: 1st I. Martinez/X. Fernandez (24), 2. P and S. Hansen, DEN (47) and 3. R. Luka/G. Leonchuk, UKR (50). The German Olympic 49er team J. and H. Peckolt who qualified for Qingdao finished the last race as second, and are fifth overall (60).

Nathan Outteridge and Ben Austin are in 19th place.

Tom Slingsby, AUS (8) is still top candidate in the Laser fleet, followed by R. Myrgren, SWE as second (21) and G. Lima, POR as third (24) after a total of seven races.

Ashley Brunning is 29th, James Burman is 50th, Ryan Hannan 65th, Joshua Chant 66th.
