Closing night at the Top of the Gulf Regatta, time to put on the dancing shoes and the sharp suit, mix with the glitterati and enjoy the balmy tropical breezes wafting in from the Gulf of Thailand (that's the 'Gulf' in 'Top of the Gulf' of course).

You can't get a much better setting than Ocean Marina. The gentle greensward in front of the Clubhouse, right in front of the marina where all the boats are parked, and - yes - the tropical breeze and the palm trees. Throw in a free rum stall courtesy of Corsair Marine, wine from Mont Clair, and beer from Singha, and it's a pretty good recipe for a party.

And the prizes, of course.

Ray Roberts had an appointment with an aeroplane, so Don Buckley and some of the Evolution Racing boys collected the Top of the Gulf trophy. Kevin 'The Ferret' Scott collected the Coronation Cup, and the rest of the Ferret crew joined him on stage. Two trophies that came down to the last race on the last day...

Bill Gasson said 'thank you' very nicely to everyone, and promised that the marina will be deeper next year, so please bring bigger keelboats. That's it for another year, Sail-World Asia signing off from the Top of the Gulf Regatta in Jomtien Beach, Thailand. Sawadee kap!
