'Ambitious NSW Optimist sailors have been training on Tuesday afternoons (after school) in preparation for the Victorian Optimist Championships at Sorrento this coming weekend. Last week Jim Colley and Brodie Crossman ended their session with some reaching across Pittwater, just for fun.' Warick Crossman Click Here to view large photo
Victorian and Western Australian Optimist Championships - a big weekend!

There is probably no other class in Australia that could support two State Championships being run on the same weekend and still attract huge fleets to both events like the Optimist have.

The Victorian Optimist Championships has attracted a record fleet of over 83 boats to Sorrento this weekend,
27th and 28th February, while the Western Australian Optimist Championships has attracted a fleet of 75 to Fremantle Sailing Club .... that's nearly 160 boats and the entries are still rolling in.
