Current International, Cadet National champion Alec Bailey, a newcomer to the 420 class, and his crew Henry Goodfellow from the Sandy Bay Sailing Club in Hobart, have finished an impressive second overall in the Victorian championships sailed at Sorrento over the weekend.

Unfortunately, the eight race series was limited to just four races because of lack of wind on Sunday, with Bailey and Goodfellow scoring a win and three seconds to finish two points behind overall winners, Victorians James Oliver and Timothy Hannah.

Oliver and Hannah, from the Sorrento Sailing and Couta Boat Club, had three wins and a second. Third overall was the Adelaide Sailing Club crew of Holly Groome and Megan Soulsby, while in fourth place was another Tasmanian crew, Lucy Shephard and Georgie Toner.
