Tenerife Island all set to host PKRA 2010 World Cup event

May-28-2010

For the first time in the history of the PKRA there will be two World Cup events in the Canary Islands. Starting with the world famous and oldest PKRA event, theFuerteventura Kiteboarding PKRA Super Grand Slam (Aug 3-7), who is celebrating its 25 year of World Cup competitions. Immediately following Fuerteventura, the island of Tenerife will host the brand newTenerife kiteboarding World Cup (Aug 10 -15). Tenerife will have the much anticipate wave riding world cup discipline as well as a freestyle qualifier event.

Between this two events the Canary Islands will have official competitions in all the IKA recognized world cup disciplines, including Freestyle, Speed, Race and Wave.

A third PKRA event in the island of Lanzarote, had some major economic problems affecting the region and has been officially canceled. However the Fuerteventura and Tenerife events promise to be two great competitions and will pave the way, so more event in the Canary Island can be incorporated into the PKRA World Tour for 2011.
