The Longest Wave Ever Surfed on a Foil?

Most waves only last a few seconds. Your average beachie? 3-5 seconds. A great point break? Maybe 30 seconds, and your legs are fried after one wave! But over in Peru, there's a wave that lasts a LOT longer.

You've seen people surf Playa Chicama in Peru, but surfing requires a bigger, steeper wave than a foil. So imagine paddling in to it before a surfer could, then riding it out for another minute after a surfer would have fallen over the back?

Laird Hamilton knows what it feels like, because he's been over to Peru and done it, clocking up well over 2 minutes foiling on a single wave. Expertly gliding on the foil above the water surface, he carves it up on this massive left hander.

Check it out below, and if you've ever seen a ride longer - let us know about it in the forums!
