PKRA - PKRA Asian Qualifier kicks off in the "Land of Smiles"

There is a reason why the tourism authority of Thailand uses the happy-go-lucky slogan “Land of Smiles" in their travel brochures! From the moment you step foot on Thai soil you are greeted with a warm and welcoming smile.

The people of Hua Hin, Thailand have really put a lot of thought, effort and planning into creating an amazing atmosphere for all honored guests, tourists, and of course kiteboard riders from all around the world.

Hundreds of colorful kites lit up the sky today marking the first ever world-class kiteboarding event held in Hua Hin, and it will certainly not be the last.

The Asian Qualifier freestyle single eliminations began late this morning under clear, beautiful sunny skies, with steady winds averaging 20 knots. The competition wrapped up for the day around 4:00pm just in time for the opening ceremony, which were held on the beach.

The male and female freestyle world champions, Kevin Langeree and Bruna Kajiya performed various tricks and jumps as part of the PKRA Asian Qualifier opening ceremony.
